The Council of the Institute – the body which discusses and deals with all the important business of Institute life is elected for the term of office of five years from the staff possessing a scientific or pedagogical degree on the basis of secret balloting at an Institute meeting.

The Council comprises 15 scientists – Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Council members.
